If you cancel the first lesson then the first lesson fee will be charged.

After you have started then all lessons are paid one lesson in advance, minimum 7 days prior(7 days if you have more than 1 a week, other wise one in advance even if that’s 2 weeks away)

Any discounts are forfeited by late payment.(if payment is not made 1 lesson in advance)

Driving lessons will only go into the diary when full payment has been received by the instructor, if you pay late the slot may be offered immediately to another student.

If you stop lessons for more than 28 days then book back in the lesson is treated as first lesson under this agreement, ie is charged if changed or cancelled

If a receipt is required for payments then let your instructor know, who will be more than happy to provide an emailed receipt.

Lessons on a Sunday or Bank Holiday are Double your normal rate.

4b, Special offers

All normal terms and conditions apply

Any cancellations void all offers

If a refund is requested before the full amount has been used then any special offers are deducted from the refund alongside the normal refund policy.

5, Cancellations by the Instructor

Lessons may on occasion need to be cancelled at short notice due to adverse weather conditions, a fault with the instructors car, the instructor being ill or another emergency/unforeseen circumstance. Every effort will be made to contact the student as soon as possible.

The instructor will rearrange any lessons at a suitable time for both parties, the missed lesson will not be charged.

6, Lessons cancelled by the student

Before you even think of cancelling a lesson ask yourself this “would I cancel if it was test day”

The student must give a minimum 48 hours notice from the START of the lesson if the need arises to cancel a lesson, should 48 hours notice not be given then the lesson has to be paid for in full, this also includes reducing a 2 hour lesson to 1 hour.

Students should contact me by phone at first instance, if there is no answer then a message must be left, followed up by a text message.

If a student cancels two lessons in your training period, then the instructor has the right to impose a 7 day notice period, insist on payments made more in advance, discontinue lessons altogether.

Where the student attends a lesson, in the instructors sole opinion, not in a fit state to drive due to drugs or any other condition the lesson will be cancelled and full payment be due.

If the Student misses more than 2 lesson for any reason, eg holidays, sickness or any other reason then the slot will be allocated to another student.

If a pre payed lesson is cancelled, then the slot is offered to other students who may then take it and is no longer available, if you change your mind.

If a student goes on holiday they accept the liabilities if something prevents them from attending a planned lesson.

During December and January any lessons booked are not refundable even if cancelled with 48 hours notice.only book if you are going to complete the lessons.

7. Appointment Time

Each student should keep a record of appointment dates and times in order to avoid missed appointments, this is your responsibility, if unsure then ask.

If I would like you to move your planned lesson I will message you to ask and will never just change it.

The night before you will receive a confirmation message, you must acknowledge that day  if you want the lesson to go ahead, if you do not the instructor will assume it is not going ahead and its chargeable.

It is your responsibility to confirm your lesson, if you do not for any reason I will assume the lesson is not going ahead.

Your driving instructor will wait 10 minutes after the appointment time before deeming the driving lesson to have been cancelled with insufficient notice, every effort will be made via phone, before taking this option.

The driving instructor will make every effort to be punctual, however traffic conditions may sometimes make this difficult, so the student should allow a 10 minute waiting period.

Your driving lesson will commence either at the appointed time, or, where the driving instructor arrives late, the student will be offered  the same length of driving lesson originally booked, or additional time on a subsequent driving lesson, which ever is best for both parties.(from when instructor arrives not when you get in the car)

lessons will begin and finish from the same location each week, any request to move these will depend on location and will come out of lesson time, regardless of where it is. the instructor has the right to refuse.

When the instructor has arrived early and communicated that will be the case and you have agreed then that is the new start time.

If you come out late then the lesson time is lost.

8, The driving test

Driving tests should not be booked without first ascertaining the availability of the driving instructor, and agreement being reached between the driving instructor and student regarding readiness for the driving test.

All tests booked by the students must forward the email received from the DVSA to richmorrisdrivingsafe@gmail.com to confirm the appointment, it is then the students responsibility to inform the instructor of any changes made by the DVSA.

Only you the student can book and change your test as of the 12 May 2026.

Tests should be booked on a Tuesday or Thursday only at 9.07am, only book another day or time if the instructor has agreed to it.

You must call the instructor if the test availability is less than 24 weeks in advance to double check they are available.

You must include the instructor number on the booking to ensure no double booking.

Test taken at 9.07 am are £100 for the 2 hours, outside of these time or in-between 2 of my slots it will be  £200.

If any incorrect information is given then the student is responsible for all costs.

Students will only be allowed the use of the driving instructor’s car for a driving test if the driving instructor agrees that the student is at test standard. The driving instructor reserves the right to refuse the use of their car for the practical driving test, if in their professional opinion the student has not reached a sufficient standard of competence, to take full responsibility for the safety of the vehicle and other road users.

Where possible, the driving instructor may recommend further driving lessons if there is time available before the test date, however if the standard required is still not met, the driving instructor reserves the right to refuse the use of their car for test purposes and their decision is final.

Where the use of the driving instructor’s car is withheld for a driving test, the driving instructor will, where possible give the student sufficient notice to enable the student to cancel the test without loss of the test fee(14 Days Before) This may not always be possible with intensive courses, if this is the case the student is responsible for all fees.

Payment for the test day is to be paid at least 7 working days prior and will still be charged if you are unable to attend.

If your test is cut short by the examiner, or you return earlier than planned you will be taken home with no time owed.

If the car is damaged during your test you will be liable for all repair costs, including 3rd party.

If you move your test without confirming the instructors availability and they are unable to take you, then you are responsible for all costs incurred, including the 2 hours for test and the Dvsa fee.

If the DVSA cancel your test without 3 clear days then my fee is still charged and you will have to claim it back from the DVSA, I will advise you how to do this.

If you fail your test or there is a gap between lessons and test, there is a minimum 3 lesson requirement if the gap is less than 4 weeks, after 4 weeks and for each 4 week period an additional 1 lesson would be required, for example 8 week gap would require 5 lessons before test, otherwise the car will be withheld, this is a minimum and you still have to show you are at the standard I present students to test.

9, Full Day Lessons

Once a date has been agreed the full payment is due and is non refundable if changed or cancelled.

Full day starts at 8 am and will finish at 4pm, pick up and drop of location must be agreed at the time of booking and can only be changed with agreement with the instructor no later than 7 days prior to the full day lesson.

Breaks will be taken at intervals and 30 minutes will be allowed for lunch.

Free lunch is subject to reasonable amount and the instructor will let you know.

9b, Team Lessons.

The maximum amount of students are three.

The lesson price is £25 per person per hour when there are 2 students, minimum 2 hours, maximum 4 hours per lesson.

The lesson price is £20 per person per hour when there are 3 students, minimum 2 hours, maximum 6 hours per lesson.

If one of the student decides to stop doing team lessons, every effort will be made to find you all a solo slot, however the standard lesson price will then be active.

If one of the students cancel’s then the 48 Hours cancellation policy kicks in, if the other student continues they will be charged standard lesson price for the amount of lessons missed by the student cancelling.

The student that cancelled will have to catch up on a solo basis before team lessons can continue, these will be charged at standard lesson prices.

The students are expected to act in a sensible manor to each other and the instructor.

There will be lessons that need to be done separately, these are charged at the standard rate.

If the lessons are cancelled and a refund is asked for, then any lessons taken are charged at the standard rate alongside a £30 admin fee.

9c, Damage to the car.

If damage to the car occurs during your lesson then the lesson will be stopped and any time lost.

Every effort will be made by the instructor to keep you, them and other road users safe, if however you are driving irresponsibly then the instructor has the right to terminate the lesson at your cost.

As the driver you are fully responsible for all speeding fines/bus lane fines or any other penalty that occurs, the instructor will do their best to ensure you don’t put yourself in this position.

If on your test you get a puncture or any other damage then the test fee is lost and the cost is down to you to rebook another test.

10, Refunds

When a student pays in advance for driving lessons, they shall be entitled to a refund for unused driving lessons where the 48 hours cancellation policy has been adhered too.

Where a discount has been given for the any bulk booked  driving lessons, and a refund is requested, the driving lessons already taken by the student will be charged at the 1 hour standard driving lesson rate,(all up to date prices are available on the website and this is what you will be charged) and the balance then refunded.

Any short notice cancellations made by the student (short notice is less than 48 hours) will be deducted from the refund, regardless of them being told it won’t be charged at the time.

If you stop your lesson’s and 3 calendar months pass then any refund will be forfeit

All refund are done through bank transfer and your details for this are required.

All refunds are liable to a charge equal to a standard 2 hour lesson.
